Valarie Benavides

Val & Murphy Valarie started showing Great Danes in 1989 and has been involved in the dog world ever since. She produced her first litter in 1999, retired from breeding dogs in 2004 and now focuses on promoting positive dog training and dog owner relationships.

Valarie trained with the well known and respected Larry Clark of Calgary, Alberta who won the 2004 World Dog Show in Helsinki, Finland. Valarie has a certificate in professional show handling for any breed, specializing in giant breeds.

Valarie is an American Red Cross Instructor-Instructor (meaning she teaches the teachers) for both pet and human versions of American Red Cross First Aid and CPR. She also holds her Washington State Para-Professional Certificate, so she is no stranger to teaching.

She currently has two dogs, the first is a senior Pug-Daschund rescue named Dixie and the second is her young Labrador named Goose.
