Tahoe, the Great Dane, is the current therapy dog at the Burbank, Washington Library. The program is called Read to Shasta’s Friends, as Shasta was the first therapy dog when we founded the reading program at the library. This program began in 2008 with Krystal & Shasta and is now carried on by Krystal & Tahoe. Other therapy dogs come from time to time as well. If you would like to attend the Read to Shasta’s Friends events, we meet on the second and fourth Friday of each month at 3:30pm for Story Time at the Burbank Library located at 875 Lake Road, Burbank, WA 99323. If the library is closed we skip that session and pick up on the next one. We also celebrate the therapy dogs’ birthdays at the library once a year. It is a fun filled event for the kids.
